Steven Gooden, Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Mr. Gooden is charged with leading the performance of the company's wealth management, asset management and investment banking business lines. Prior to this appointment he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer where he led the team through a number of successful strategic and portfolio deals. He rejoined the company in 2009 as Vice President of Investments & Trading and had responsibility for over J$200 billion worth of assets spanning NCB Capital Markets Ltd, NCB Insurance Co. Ltd & NCB (Cayman) Ltd. With seven years experience at the senior management level, his background also includes research, unit trust & pension fund management, structured products, private equity, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions.
Mr. Gooden is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, has a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Accounting, and has won many local awards in the areas of research and portfolio management. He is a director of NCB Capital Markets and Elite Diagnostic Limited and serves as Treasurer of the Jamaica Securities Dealers Association and the Wolmer's Old Boys Association.
Warrick Ward – CEO NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Limited
As CEO of NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Limited, Mr. Ward is charged with maintaining the strategic outlook and development of the company in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. Prior to his current role, he held senior positions at the Financial Services Commission in Barbados, the Barbados Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Central Bank of Barbados. He has also served as a member on a number of diverse policy-making and legislative committees, and whilst at the Central Bank co-ordinated capital market sovereign debt transactions for the Government of Barbados.
Mr.Ward, who is a Director of NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Limited, also served as a director of a number of Boards including those of the Barbados Stock Exchange and the Barbados Deposit Insurance Corporation. He was integral in the conceptualization of the Banking and Finance Programme at the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill), where he served as a part-time Lecturer in that programme.
Mr. Ward was educated at the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill) and the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, where he has completed degrees in Finance, Economics and Accounting.
Herbert Hall, Assistant Vice President - Investment Banking
Herbert Hall joined NCB Capital Markets in October 2007 and currently holds the post of Assistant Vice President , Investment Banking prior to which he was the manager of the Investment Banking team. He has also held the post of Executive Corporate Wealth Advisor with the Corporate Sales Team as well as Global Economist within the Research Team. Mr. Hall has significant experience in structuring and arranging complex corporate transactions and has led some of Jamaica’s largest capital market deals. He also has experience in investment analysis and advisory, client portfolio allocation and management as well as strategic management and planning. Prior to joining NCB Capital Markets, Mr. Hall was the Group Economist for National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited and he has also held the post of Monetary Economist with the Bank of Jamaica.
Mr. Hall holds a BSc. in Economics & Management (Hons.) and a MSc. in Economics, both from the University of the West Indies as well as a MSc. in Finance from the University of Leicester. He is a voting member of the University of Technology’s Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Course Advisory Committee and a past Director of the Small Business Association of Jamaica.
Annya Walker, Vice President - Strategy, Projects, Research &Structured Products
Annya Walker holds the position of Vice President— Strategy, Projects, Research & Structured Products at NCB Capital Markets Limited.
Ms Walker’s service to the NCB Group started ten years ago. Prior to joining NCB, she worked as an Economist at the Bank of Jamaica. Cumulatively her experience spans eleven years in the financial services industry. Currently, her role includes the development and implementation of new products and service policies, formulating research and investment strategies for the NCB Capital Markets clientele and management of projects. Ms. Walker has led the NCB Capital Markets Research team to three consecutive wins of the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s Annual Market Research Competition.
Ms. Walker holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and an M.Sc. in Economics (Distinction) from the University of the West Indies.
Angus Young, CEO - NCB Global Finance Limited
Mr. Angus joins the NCB Group with a wealth of experience in the regional financial services market. Previous to his appointment at NCB Global Finance, he was Managing Director of BDO Financial Advisory Services Ltd., which represents BDO’s corporate finance and transaction advisory interest in Trinidad & Tobago.
Before joining BDO, Angus was Vice President of Business Development at First Global (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd. where he was charged with the responsibility of Corporate Finance and Capital Market origination in T&T and Jamaica. Prior to FGTT, Angus spent four years at RBTT Merchant Bank Ltd. in leadership roles including Assistant Vice President and Regional Manager of Capital Market Origination where he covered the OECS territories and Guyana. In the past, Angus has served as a Director of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Young holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies (Financial and Economic Studies) from the University of Western Ontario and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business and Economics, Ontario.
Tracy-Ann Spence, Vice President - Investments
Tracy-Ann Spence is the Vice President – Investments and is in charge of Asset Management and Trading for the subsidiaries of the NCB Group. She manages over J$250 billion worth of assets and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies aimed at growing investment income. Ms. Spence has had repeated success in delivering results in an ever-changing financial market, with expertise in managing financial negotiations and portfolio strategies for enhanced profitability and growth.
Ms Spence has been employed to the NCB Group for over 13 years and counts a BSc in Applied Mathematics (York University, Toronto) and an MBA in Banking and Finance with distinction (University of the West Indies) among her educational achievements. Ms Spence is also a holder of the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
She is an avid supporter of life-enhancing opportunities for young people and values her role as mentor to youth and as a part-time lecturer in Financial Management (MBA) at the Mona School of Business & Management.
Phillip Harrison, Managing Director - NCB Capital Markets (Cayman) Limited
Phillip Harrison is the Managing Director of NCB (Cayman) Limited, NCB Capital Markets (Cayman) Limited and NCB Investments (Cayman) Limited. He leads a team dedicated to providing international wealth management services and solutions to high net worth and corporate clients.
Mr. Harrison began his financial career in 1986 at National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited. In 2002, he was appointed Managing Director of NCB (Cayman) Limited to lead the turnaround and development of the Cayman subsidiary. In his present role he is responsible for continuing the growth of NCB’s international wealth management business in and from the Cayman Islands.
Mr. Harrison is an associate of the Institute of Financial Services UK (formerly Chartered Institute of Bankers).
Kerry-Ann Spencer, Assistant Vice President - Wealth Management
As AVP Wealth Management, Ms. Spencer has overall responsibility for client advisory services, customer experience, product distribution and sales strategy. Prior to her promotion to head of wealth management, Ms. Spencer was a regional manager for the retail client segment and head of corporate sales at NCBCM. She is a career investment banker and has held managerial positions prior to NCBCM which saw her as a key stakeholder in pioneering the stock brokerage business at another of Jamaica’s leading financial firms. She also has experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, and process reengineering.
Ms. Spencer holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester UK and a Bachelor of Science (honors) in Management and Finance from Norfolk State University, Virginia USA. She is also a Certified Financial Planner.
Ms. Spencer also finds time for social responsibility and is immediate past Vice President for the Rotary Club of Trafalgar New Heights.
