Cement Prices Set to Increase

On July 1 Caribbean Cement issued a release indicating that it will be adjusting its prices effective July 8 2013, in accordance with the price scheduled below. The prices will be increased by an average of 1%on all products.

 

The management of the company states that the price change was based on the continued devaluation of the J$. The construction sector is expected to feel the pinch from this measure, while already reeling from challenges to the sector brought on by Jamaica’s weak economy and the consequent slowdown in construction activities.
